Kashmir Great Lakes Trek

The Kashmir Great Lakes (KGL) Trek truly lives up to Amir Khusrau’s words, “If there is paradise on earth, it is here.” Stretching from Shitkadi to Naranag, this 73 km journey is a continuous reveal of alpine magic. As human traces fade early on, trekkers find solitude alongside the Sind River, vast meadows like Shekhdur, high passes, and a chain of stunning lakes—Vishansar, Gadsar, Satsar, and the Gangabal Twin Lakes. Each day brings new landscapes, folklore, and moments of quiet reflection. Meadows, glaciers, boulder zones, streams, and sweeping valleys define the trail. Moderately difficult with long walking days, KGL is perfect for those seeking peace, beauty, and an unforgettable connection with Kashmir’s high-altitude wilderness.
